Paddle to the Amazon tells the amazing story of how father and son made a two-year, 20,000km voyage of adventure and discovery down the Red River from Winnipeg to the Amazon. Don and Dana Starkell were set upon by pirates, arrested, shot at, and mistaken for spies and drug smugglers. They lived through terrifying hurricanes, food poisoning, and near starvation. The documentary follows their journey in a vibrant photo-journalistic tone and through deeply personal interviews. This film is a soulful journey of passion and determination, is wonderful to watch, and will leave the viewer inspired.
